About me
Hello, I'm Richard, a psychotherapist residing in Bath
I am a member of the BACP and UKCP. I am a training member of SAFPAC and hold a Diploma in Psychotherapy and Phenomenology.
With extensive experience in the field, I have been in my own therapy for over seven years, and I have been training as a therapist since the beginning of the lockdown.
Training to become a therapist is a lifelong commitment. I am deeply passionate about continuous learning and the development of my practice. I constantly refine my approach to better serve my clients. My therapy style remains fluid for good reason.
— There is a saying that therapy should start anew with each client. I wholeheartedly embrace this concept.
Your world is entirely unique, and no manual or preconceived notion can fully grasp your experience. To truly understand you, I must set aside everything I think I know and genuinely listen to your story.
Through my own therapy and training, I have learned that we are better equipped to face our challenges when we have someone by our side. I do not believe in "fixes" because that implies you are broken. Instead, I believe that working toward self-improvement is more achievable with the support of others.
Please don't hesitate to reach out and share what you would like to talk about.
Beyond the therapy room
Alongside my work as a therapist, I work in NHS settings, specifically the ambulance sector. I have been in this line of work for over fifteen years.
I am also a musician and writer. I have performed widely in various bands and continue to write both novels and articles. I live in Bath with my wife and our two very lazy and adorable dogs.
